Halloween is Coming - Let's Be Spooky Safe Out There!
10/15/2022
With Halloween falling on a Monday this year it's likely to be a long weekend of Trick-or-Treating for all the little ghosts and goblins around the country and maybe for some of you old scarecrows and witches, too! Here are a few tips to help you and all the little ones to have a fun-filled, frightful weekend.
On Halloween there will be more pedestrians on the roads and in places where they are not expected. Slower speeds save lives. Slow down and continue to scan the road in areas where pedestrians are likely to be or where sight distances are limited. Stay alert for pedestrians who may come out from between parked cars or behind shrubbery. Stop, wait for them to pass.
Don’t pass vehicles that have stopped in the road since they may be dropping off children.
Don’t look at your phone when you’re driving. Your attention needs to always be on the road.
If you see a drunk driver on the road, contact law enforcement.
Be alert for trick-or-treaters on Halloween, they may be out all weekend this year.
Remember, Safety is the best treat for all!
