Halloween is Coming - Let's Be Spooky Safe Out There!

With Halloween falling on a Monday this year it's likely to be a long weekend of Trick-or-Treating for all the little ghosts and goblins around the country and maybe for some of you old scarecrows and witches, too!  Here are a few tips to help you and all the little ones to have a fun-filled, frightful weekend.


On Halloween there will be more pedestrians on the roads and in places where they are not expected. Slower speeds save lives. Slow down and continue to scan the road in areas where pedestrians are likely to be or where sight distances are limited. Stay alert for pedestrians who may come out from between parked cars or behind shrubbery. Stop, wait for them to pass.

TCA Applauds the Confirmation of FMCSA Administrator Robin Hutcheson

Robin Hutcheson, President Biden’s nominee for Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) was unanimously confirmed to head the agency that regulates both the truck and bus industry. TCA President, Jim Ward, hails the confirmation as a tremendous step for the industry in confirming Hutcheson’s nomination.


“Speaking on behalf of the association, I am pleased to see this confirmation come to fruition,” Ward said. “In the short time that she has been there, the Administrator has demonstrated a passion for safety improvement and a willingness to engage with the industry. We are looking forward to working with her on truckload related safety measures in the future.”

FMCSA Administrator Hutcheson to Keynote Women In Trucking Accelerate! Conference

The Women In Trucking Association (WIT) announces that Robin Hutcheson, the newly confirmed administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), will be the opening keynote Nov. 14 at its upcoming Accelerate! Conference & Expo. The conference, which will take place Nov. 13-16 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, TX, is the largest event to encourage employment, address obstacles, and celebrate the successes of women in the trucking industry. WIT expects more than 1,300 attendees this year.
